The More Comic Book Movies The Better

It looks to me that the movie industry is taking full advantage of the comic book genre as a whole. The reason for that is simple, and that's because comic books have their own set stories fleshed out with characters and all of the details needed for a complete movie. Now-a-days you can look at films as one big episode. Let's look at Spider-Man for instance. Spider-Man started out as a comic book series and before it hit film for the first time, their were a bunch of animated cartoon shows first.

The most notable Spider-Man cartoon show was the one that came on Fox in the 90's. The first episode of the 90's Spider-Man cartoon featured the lizard as the first villain. This episode was 19-20 minutes long and was turned into a full 90-120 minute movie. That movie was called The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) which featured Andrew Garfield, in my opinion he was the perfect Peter Parker. My point in all of this is simple, comic books that eventually end up with their own cartoon series already lays the ground work for movies before the hit the big screen.

We are approaching the end of 2015 and a lot of big movies are slated to release in 2016. We have a few heavy hitters starting with Dead Pool featuring Ryan Reynolds (February 12, 2016), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice featuring Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck (March 25, 2016), Captain America: Civil War featuring Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., X-Men: Apocalypse (May 27, 2016), and last but not least Suicide Squad featuring Will Smith and Jared Leto. I don't know about you but that is one amazing line-up of movies. Movies that are using existing content from their source material which is comic books.

As of right now, two major comic book brands are fighting it out and that's Marvel Comics and DC Comics. For those who don't know which super heroes belong to what, don't worry about it because I will list the important ones. You should remember and note too that the ones I list below have received their own movies, due to popularity of the character(s) of course. Spider-Man, Wolverine, Hulk, Iron Man, and Captain America all belong to Marvel Comics. Movie studios such as Sony, Fox, and Universal split most of the characters up by purchasing them back in the 80's, this is when Marvel went bankrupt. A great source for comic book movie news would have to be Dope Fiction so check them out. As for DC Comics, the main super heroes consist of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Flash. Of course their are more but these are the core super heroes that have received numerous amount of movies and television shows up-to-date.

Whether your a comic book fan or a casual movie goer, audiences can agree that super hero movies are here to stay. With Justice League part I and Infinity Wars part I approaching in the very near future, we will see the majority of every major super hero on the big screen. For people who grown up reading comic books and watching the cartoons, this is an absolute dream come true and a perfect time to be alive.
